This is a Brand New Merrow Edge Badge for the Intermediate Girl Scouts of the 1950s. With the exception of some prototype badges in 1954, 1955 was the first time that badges were issued with a finished edge.
The LIGHT BORDER on this badge pin-points the date as 1955.
The light green border is thought to be leftover thread from the 1948 Bright Medium Green badges, thus the border on the
very early
1955 ME badges are brighter.  This is not an easy design to find, and it is RARE to find one New .... SIXTY-FIVE YEARS LATER. This is BRAND NEW, no sewing holes or marks and no fading.
