In 1985, GSUSA created a program called Contemporary Issues to supplement the handbook. GIRLS ARE GREAT was issued in 1987 with this booklet and patch to go with it.  The book addresses ALL LEVELS with issues surrounding "Growing Up Female" including Physical, Social and Cultural awareness.  You can see the table of contents, and there are 20 pages in this booklet that is 8.5 X 11 inches.  It comes with one patch which is a pretty OVAL shape measuring approximately 4 inches X 2.75 inches and is brightly colored silk screened.
I have a few more patches both silk screened and embroidered listed in my store.
Click on Patches on the left of this page to see them.  There are VERY FEW PATCHES listed in the Girl Scout Collector's Guide, (as opposed to badges and insignia,) but you will find these on page 64.  The patch is BRAND NEW.  The book is in excellent condition, but has cover and edge wear and the name written as you can see in the picture.
