Antique Asian Jade Rosewood Brass Silk Jewelry Box. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Antique Asian/Chinese rosewood jewelry box measures 11.25” tall x 7.5” wide and 5.75” depth. It has four floral gem quality White Jade medallions (two on each side measuring 2” x1.5” each), two floral gem quality White Jade medallions (on the drawer measuring 1.5” x 1” each) and two gem quality White Jade panels (one on each door measuring 1.5” x 4.5” each). Behind the doors are four silk lined drawers two of them have ring holders and compartments for jewelry and the other two are simply drawers. The handles are so unique, they lay flat on the drawers, but they are hinged and one side pulls up to be able to open the drawer. Underneath the doors is another drawer which has a “secret” compartment that is exposed by lifting the top tray out of the drawer. The brass handles on the doors are shaped like artemisia leaves. The brass accents are all beautifully engraved with flower designs and the brass handles on the top and the drawer are carved like fruit bats...such a unique design! This box is solid rosewood, in a deep cherry finish, dovetail construction very heavy and masterfully crafted. This piece is in excellent condition, estimated making of it in the 1950’s so it’s 60+ years old! It will be carefully and lovingly packaged to prevent damage in shipment.
