    Description

Three nice news reports concerning the 1876 Centennial Exposition are found in this Dec. 29, 1875 issue of Philadelphia newspaper The Press.  One "The Centennial Legion" tells of the participation of Boston Lightfoot Infantry as well as Norfolk Light Artillery Blues, Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry Washington Light Infantry, and the Clinch Rifles of Georgia.  Also, a report "Fish For the Centennial".  Tells how all the fish will be supported.  The condition is good but there is some flaking on mainly the bottom margin edge not affecting any print.  There is a general light to moderate toning mostly in margins.  The issue is cut clean at the spine. A half inch tear in left margin only.
