November, 1871 edition of American Agriculturist. Interesting farming articles, illustrations and plenty of advertising including farm related. There is an illustrated advertisement from the St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Company for ' 1,500,000 acres of land ' in central Minnesota. The ad includes a map of the railroad along the towns where the land is offered. Other interesting RR ads are for 1,500,000 acres of land in Kansas offered by the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway Company and 12,000,000 acres in Nebraska offered by Union Pacific Railroad. There are other land buying ads with locations in the West and one offered from ' K.A. Cross, Chief of Immigration Bureau, Clinton, Louisiana. Other ads include Hill & Hoag Corn Husker, Sessions & Knox's Hard Steel Plows, foot lathes, agricultural steamers, Dutch flower bulbs, grapes by variety, wire mattress's, Whitney's breech loading double barrel shot gun, United States Watch company, microscopes and Crandall's building blocs for children among many, many others.
