    Description

FR 1072a  0  1914 Red Seal  Federal Reserve Note  PCGS Banknote 66 PPQ
    - The stat sheet on this note is incredible. Not only is this note tied for the FINEST KNOWN with PMG but it is also one of the FINEST KNOWN 0 Federal Reserve Note Red Seals extant! And 0 Red Seals are rare too – especially in high grade.  The story of the Federal Reserve Note Red Seals is quite interesting. Apparently, the red dye was imported from a European country and as World War I intensified, embargoes prevented the import of the red ink to the United States.  About to run out, officials at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing quickly changed the color of the seal and serial numbers to what has become the more common blue ink variety. Coupled with the fact that fewer high denomination bills were printed, adding this numismatic rarity to your collection has all the qualifications to be an intelligent decision indeed.  We gladly accept returns within 30 days minus a 2.9% restocking fee.  Thank you
